Mizuno - Football Boot Websites
m4 were first approached by Mizuno and asked us to create a microsite to launch their new football boot: the Wave Ignitus. The brief was to create a site that would complement the Japanese ‘Mukaiten’ logo, show the boot in an engaging way, be search engine friendly, be translated into 6 languages and be completed within 10 days!
m4 created a site using an open source CMS solution – Joomla! 1.5 – however, unlike most other Joomla! templates we created a bespoke one that was search engine friendly and would display the content of the site within other search verticals: Google images, video etc. SEO plays such an important role, so to ensure that none of the On Page elements would be missed, Meta tags, heading tags, page titles etc, we customised the administration panel.
The Collection pages on the site allow users to zoom in on the boot, which allows the site visitor a detailed review of each of the boots. All pages were programmed so that they followed SEO best practice – and, where possible, automated the process. The Wave Ignitus microsite (http://www.waveignitus.com) appears within the first page on search engines results – ahead of shopping sites – and promotes the Mizuno Football category effectively. Since creating the Wave Ignitus site, m4 have designed and built a further four product microsites for Mizuno.
